The workshop, which I produce swords are actually three distinct positions: forge, polishing studio and koshirae studio.
My forge is equipped with a Japanese-type furnace fired with charcoal and traditional hand-powered box-bellows. In addition to the basic tools (hand hammers, pliers, chisels, etc.) also have a power hammer (top die weight 25 kg) - his is my own design and construction modeled of Japanese power hammer.
For several years, I use only the Japanese technique of grinding and polishing. I have several full sets of Japanese water stones for grinding and finish polishing.
Koshirae studio is equipped with traditional Japanese instruments (eg Tagane - chisel engraving) and contemporary jewelry accessories including stereoscopic microscope. To perform the koshirae also try to use the techniques of Japanese ornamental. I also repair vintage koshirae and modern Japanese swords.
